Colt

“Where are you going?” My beautiful woman asks me. I couldn’t keep the smile off my face if I tried.

“You stay exactly where you are love. I want my guys to have the best chance they can get to implant. I’m going to grab a quick shower. When I’m done, you’ll get in. Don’t pout baby, if we get in together, we’ll never leave the room tonight. I know you want to get a tree.”

“Colt I was talking about for my place, but that seems, I don’t know, pointless? I mean, you said…”

“You’re moving in baby. I’ll see if I can get my cousins Joe and Rich to help move your stuff in this weekend. They might be busy with their restaurant Spice, though.”

“Wait. They own Spice? Like, the Spice off Third street?”

I nod, knowing where she’s going with this. Spice is the best upscale restaurant we have in Caraway. Joe is a five-star chef hat refuses to work anywhere, but home and his brother runs the place. The only problem is the twins work too damn much.

She claps her hands together excitedly. “Do you think you could get us a reservation? I’ve wanted to go to Spice since they opened last year. It’s always crazy busy when I drive by, so I haven’t even bothered. Plus, there was no one to go with before, but now...” Her excitement is refreshing, and it rubs off on me.

I laugh and bring her hand to my lips. “I’ll text them soon about helping me move you in. About the reservation, I know we can eat there whenever you want. Just let me know when you want to go, and I’ll make it happen.”

She jumps up from the bed and into my arms. She wraps her legs around my hips, her arms around my neck, peppering my face with kisses. It’s the little things like this that she probably doesn’t even think about, that makes me love her more.

I walk us into the shower, and we manage to make it out of there in record time.
